Scope

'There is an accompanying, numbered handwritten list (including some sketches) provided by Fournier corresponding to numbered photographs. However, he has listed 21 photographs, whereas in fact there were only seventeen with the list. Also a few of the numbers on the photographs have been corrected in pencil (probably by Brogan). It has been possible to date this series precisely, as they were in a postmarked envelope, sent from Clermont-Ferrand to Brogan, to an hotel in Paris.'
