Scope

'The title of this article roughly translates as "The centres of Tripolitania under the influence of Carthage and Alexandria: the Punic-Hellenistic mausolea of Sabratha". Professor Antonio Di Vita was adviser to the Libyan government on Tripolitanian antiquities between 1962 and 1965, and director of numerous Italian archaeological missions in Algeria, Libya and Tunisia. He was also a co-founder of the journal "Libya Antiqua" and taught at the universities of Palermo, Perugia and Macerata.
