Scope

'Photographs of tombs at Cyrene; most photographs feature a manuscript serial number and/or caption on verso.', The photographs have been inserted into sleeves labelled "Photographs of Tomb N. 1 during clearance ca. 1926" (10 photographs); "photographs of grave [choude? Tomb N. 1 bis 1. Also ring seal from subterranean chamber of Tomb N. 1 (4 photographs); "Photographs of Tomb N. 1 during clearance in 1926" (5 photographs); "Eastern slope of Wadi Haleg Shaloof, Cassels Plate II" (1 photograph) and "Tombs N. 201 - 202 published Cassels as Plate IIIa. Sarcophagus group in "South Necropolis" (sic), actually in northern necropolis, was buried, Cassels Plate IV b. In vicinity of N. 201 - 202" (2 photographs).', There are also five photographs contained within an envelope labelled "Cyrene Mis Photos". Each of these photographs feature a manuscript caption and serial number on verso; "B1253. Interior: Tomb N. 173 \'of the veteran\' showing iconic statue which is no longer there, and statue base, note outside"; "F525 Aniconic figure from N. 1 bis 2 half" (two copies); "F1782 Cyrene Museum Archives - Tomb N. 178 ca. 1915, eventually cleared by Burton Brown in 1947" and "F1783 Cyrene Museum Archives - Tomb.179".'
