Scope

"Items relate to Webb's expeditions to Cyrenaica and his research into its ancient field systems. Photographs have largely been maintained in their original order and kept together in their original files.", The photographs show multiple aspects of the region including general landscapes, coastal views, aerial views, stone ruins, remnants of ancient buildings and structures, modern towns, settlements, local people and people involved in the expedition.', All of the photographs were taken by Martin and Audrey Webb with the exception of the aerial photographs in the Gebel Akhdar Aerial Photographs series (D15/1/3); there were taken by Hunting Aerosurveys Limited.'

'The photographs were arranged into pre-existing files by Webb; these files have been maintained in order to preserve any additional context this may provide.'
